TRAINING OF TRAINERS on Data Stewardship for Open Science 2021


AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The International Science, Technology and Innovation Centre for South-South Cooperation under the auspices of UNESCO (ISTIC) and the UNESCO Office in Jakarta, in collaboration with the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM) and the Malaysia Open Science Alliance (under the Working Group of Capacity Building and Awareness) are pleased to announce a call for participation for Training of Trainers (ToT) on Data Stewardship for Open Science 2021.

 

The aim of this programme is to equip future data stewards with competencies and expertise in data stewardship for Open Science. Upon completion of the training, participants will be able to understand the concepts and skills of Open Science and data stewardship, as well as able to apply Open Science practices and play the role of data stewards within an organization.


WHO CAN APPLY?
The training programme is open to librarians and research managers in universities/organisations in the Asia-Pacific region who are currently employed full time, have an interest in data stewardship and Open Science, and are motivated to be future data stewards in their respective countries.

 

ABOUT THE TRAINING PROGRAMME
The Training of Trainers programme is divided into two sections:(mandatory for all participants)
Part I: Online Training on Open Science Skills
Part II: Online Training on Data Stewardship
 
Part I training modules needs to be completed between16 March 2021 – 16April 2021 (approximately 4 weeks).
• Part II training modules dates to be confirmed and announced soon.
 
Participants will have engaging sessions with experts in Open Science and will be trained by Certified Data Stewards recognized by Certified Information Management Professional.
 
HOW TO APPLY?
The participation costs for the Training of Trainers programme are fully sponsored by the UNESCO Office in Jakarta and ISTIC and are limited to 100 seats only.
 
All participants are requested to fill in the online form of participation to confirm your partaking.
