IKCEST Representative Attended “Strengthening the Collaboration among Science Networks in Asia and the Pacific” Forum upon Invitation

The forum themed on “Strengthening the Collaboration among Science Networks in Asia and the Pacific” was held in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, and online, from November 7 to 9, 2022. It was co-organized by the UNESCO Jakarta Office and the Japan Funds-in-Trust.

 

As many as 70 participants from China, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, the United States and others attended the forum on site, and more than 70 experts and scholars attended the regional event through video links.

 

This event aimed at strengthening collaboration and information sharing among science networks in Asia and the Pacific and reinforcing comprehensive regional scientific capacities of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 

 

Ms. Liu Chang, Secretary General of the International Knowledge Centre for Engineering Sciences and Technology (IKCEST) under the Auspices of UNESCO, also Director of Division One, Department of International Cooperation, Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) was invited to the meeting on behalf of IKCEST on November 8, who made a presentation on IKCEST overview, its practices under partnerships, and initial thoughts for future collaboration. IKCEST will actively enhance cooperation with institutions in the Asia-Pacific region in open science, specialized knowledge services as well as training workshops, among others, in the future.
