The New Normal of Post COVID-19: Conference on New-Energy Vehicles Investment Opportunities in Thailand held Online

 

Organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation of Thailand (MHESI), the International Knowledge Centre for Engineering Sciences and Technology under the Auspices of UNESCO(IKCEST)and the Thai Alumni Association of China’s Universities (TACU), the conference on new-energy vehicles investment opportunities in Thailand was held online on July 11, 2020. More than 3,000 audience from China and Thailand participated in the conference.

Pasupha Chinvarasopak, Counselor of Scientific and Technological Affairs of the Royal Thai Embassy in Beijing, Yang Xin, Charge D'affaires of the People's Republic of China in the Kingdom of Thailand, Liu Chang, Director of Division of International Cooperation of IKCEST, and Soranit Silatham, Deputy Director of MHESI, delivered an opening remarks at the conference. 

On behalf of IKCEST, Liu Chang congratulated on the successful opening of the conference, and expressed gratitude for the efforts made by relevant parties for making the conference a reality. She mentioned that IKCEST would continue to follow the development of new-energy vehicles in both China and Thailand with interest and strive to build a bridge of cooperation for both sides. 

Shi Hong, an expert representing IKCEST and Director of the Center for Automotive Strategy and Policy, China Automotive Technology and Research Center, gave a keynote speech and introduced the development status and incentives of new-energy vehicles in China.

12 participants from the government and industrial field from China and Thailand discussed on the status quo, challenges and opportunities of the development of new-energy vehicles in Thailand. In the end, President of the TACU Wanna Lorluelert delivered a closing speech.

As one of the organizers of the conference, IKCEST will strengthen its cooperation with international organizations in the field of science and technology to promote the Belt and Road initiative and implement the Silk Road spirit of "peace and cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, mutual learning and mutual benefit".
