2019年11月20日上午，由联合国教科文组织国际工程科技知识中心（简称“国际知识中心”、“IKCEST”）、西安交通大学、泰国清迈大学主办，IKCEST丝路培训基地承办的第67期丝路工程科技发展专项培训开班仪式在泰国清迈大学顺利举行。清迈大学副校长Rome Jiranugrom教授、清迈大学艺术传媒技术学院院长Pitipong Yodmongkol教授、西安交通大学继续教育学院院长邸德海及西安交通大学电子信息学部田锋教授出席开班仪式。清迈大学Mingsarn Kao-Saad教授主持开班仪式。共有来自泰国清迈大学的100余名学员参加培训。

The opening ceremony of the 67th IKCEST Training Programme for Silk Road Engineering Science and Technology Development was held in Chiang Mai University of Thailand on the morning of Nov. 20th, 2019. It was co-hosted by the International Knowledge Centre for Engineering Sciences and Technology (shortened as “IKCEST”) under the Auspices of UNESCO, Xi’an Jiaotong University and Chiang Mai University, and was organized by IKCEST Silk Road Training Base. Professor Rome Chiranukrom, Vice President of Chiang Mai University, Dr. Pitipong Yodmongkol, Dean of the College of Art, Media and Technology of Chiang Mai University, Di Dehai, Dean of the School of Continuing Education of Xi’an Jiaotong University, and Tianfeng, Professor of the Faculty of Electronic and Information Engineering of Xi’an Jiaotong University, attended the opening ceremony. Professor Mingsarn Kao-Saad from Chiang Mai University hosted the opening ceremony. Over 100 students from Chiang Mai University of Thailand registered for the workshop.

开班典礼上，清迈大学副校长Rome Jiranugrom致欢迎辞。Rome教授首先对西安交通大学出席开班仪式的领导、教授及IKCEST丝路培训基地工作人员表示欢迎与感谢。他在致辞中表示，清迈大学与西安交通大学较早之前已有紧密联系，清迈大学与西安交通大学在医学方面有过诸多合作。希望以本次培训为契机，推动两校之间深入交流与合作，实现教育资源共建共享。Rome教授对参加本次培训的学员也提出要求，希望泰国学员们在接下来的培训中按时上课，认真学习，获取更多工程科技类知识，未来为祖国的建设作出贡献。

Rome Jiranugrom gave a welcome speech at the opening ceremony. At the outset, Professor Rome extended a warm welcome and sincere gratitude to leaders and professors from Xi’an Jiaotong University, and the staff of IKCEST Silk Road Training Base who attended the opening ceremony. He mentioned in his speech that an earlier and close tie was established between Xi’an Jiaotong University and Chiang Mai University as the two the universities had a lot of cooperation in medical field. He hoped that the two universities take this training as an opportunity to promote in-depth inter-school exchanges and cooperation so as to achieve the joint construction and sharing of educational resources. Professor Rome also expressed some requirements to the trainees. He hoped that students attend classes on time and study hard in this training to learn more about engineering, science and technology knowledge so as to contribute to the construction of their countries in the future.

邸德海院长发表讲话。邸院长首先代表西安交通大学和IKCEST丝路培训基地对泰国清迈大学为此次培训班成功举办所提供的支持表示感谢。他简要介绍了联合国教科文组织国际工程科技知识中心（IKCEST），并对IKCEST丝路培训基地成立的背景与意义进行概述。邸院长表示，清迈大学是泰国北部最好的大学，也是泰国最好的高校之一，西安交通大学是中国中西部最好的大学，也是中国最重要的大学之一，两所高校具有很好的合作基础与合作前景。本次培训邀请西安交通大学优秀教授作报告，不仅为了推进工程科技知识在全球范围内的分享与交流，也成为加强西安交通大学与清迈大学之间学术、文化交流的重要途径。希望学员通过本次培训能够学有所获，扩宽科学研究领域的视野，进一步提高对工程科技知识的认识。

Di Dehai made a speech at the opening ceremony. On behalf of Xi’an Jiaotong University and IKCEST Silk Road Training Base, he expressed his gratitude to Chiang Mai University of Thailand for providing strong support for this training programme. He gave a brief introduction to IKCEST as well as the background and significance of the establishment of IKCEST Silk Road Training Base. Dean Di said that as the best university in Northern Thailand, Chiang Mai University is one of the best universities in Thailand, and Xi’an Jiaotong University is the best university in Midwest China and is also one of the most important universities in China. He said that this contributed to a good foundation and prospect for the cooperation between the two universities. Professors from Xi’an Jiaotong University were invited to give lectures in this training aiming to promote the sharing and exchange of engineering science and technology knowledge worldwide and strengthen academic and cultural exchanges between Xi’an Jiaotong University and Chiang Mai University. At the end of his speech, he hoped that all the students learn a lot from this training, broaden their horizons in the field of scientific research, and further improve their knowledge of engineering, science and technology.

目前，IKCEST丝路培训基地已举办67期“丝路工程科技发展专项培训”，共培养了来自100余个国家的六千余名留学生、在华外向型企业人员等。此次培训，作为丝路培训基地一项重要工作，将在培养丝路人才，服务国家“一带一路”倡议方面发挥重要作用，同时，也为推动文化、科技、教育交流，为海上丝路建设做出重要贡献。

Up till recently, 67 sessions of IKCEST Training Programmes for Silk Road Engineering Science and Technology Development have been held by Silk Road Training Base, training more than 6,000 foreign students and staff from export-oriented Chinese Companies from over 100 countries. As an important mission of the IKCEST Silk Road Training Base, this training programme plays an important role in cultivating talents and promoting the Belt and Road Initiative. In the Meanwhile, it also made important contributions to the promotion of cultural, scientific, technological and educational exchanges as well as the construction of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.

IKCEST是联合国教科文组织下属二类中心，2014年6月在北京成立，依托中国工程院建设。旨在面向世界各国尤其是发展中国家的政策制定者、广大工程科技工作者提供咨询、科研、教育等知识服务。2017年2月，国际知识中心依托西安交通大学，设立“IKCEST丝路培训基地”，为“一带一路”沿线国家培养工程科技人才。

IKCEST is a category II centre under the auspices of UNESCO and was established in June 2014 in Beijing. Chinese Academy of Engineering is responsible for the operation and management of the IKCEST. IKCEST aims to provide knowledge-based services at a global scale in the form of consultancies, scientific research and education for policy-makers and engineering science and technology professionals in the world, with particular reference to the developing countries. In February 2017, based in Xi’an Jiaotong University, IKCEST Silk Road Training Base was established, which aims to train more engineering science and technology talents for Belt-road countries.
