2019年4月4日晚，由联合国教科文组织国际工程科技知识中心（IKCEST）、西安交通大学和西安石油大学联合主办、IKCEST丝路培训基地承办的第50期丝路工程科技中心培训班暨西安石油大学首届“丝路纵横”国际学生专题培训开班仪式在西安石油大学举行。中国科学院院士、西安交通大学陶文铨教授出席仪式并为该期学员作专题讲座。西安交通大学继续教育学院院长邸德海、西安石油大学副校长陈军斌、西安石油大学教务处、国际交流与合作处、国际教育学院负责人及全体培训国际学生参加仪式。

The 50th IKCEST Training Programme for Silk Road Engineering Science and Technology Development & Xi'an Shiyou University’s 1st Special Training programme on Silk Road Strategies for International Students was unveiled in Xi’an Shiyou University on the evening of April 4th, 2019. It was co-hosted by International Knowledge Centre for Engineering Sciences and Technology (IKCEST), Xi’an Jiaotong University and Xi’an Shiyou University, and organized by IKCEST Silk Road Training Base. Professor Tao WenQuan, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, attended the opening ceremony as a distinguished guest, and gave a keynote lecture to all the trainees of this programme. Professor Di DeHai, Dean of School of Continuing Education of Xi’an Jiaotong University, Vice President Chen JunBin from Xi’an Shiyou University, Directors and Deans from the Office of Educational Administration, Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, School of International Education from Xi’an Shiyou University all attended the opening ceremony, together with the students.

西安石油大学副校长陈军斌致欢迎辞，他代表西安石油大学对陶文铨院士和西安交通大学IKCEST丝路培训团队的到来表示热烈欢迎，对共同承办方西安交通大学继续教育学院表示衷心的感谢，并对丝路工程科技发展专项培训在西安石油大学开班表示祝贺。同时西安石油大学副校长陈军斌在致辞中分享了自己的求学生涯和科研心得，阐述了丝路专项培训对提高科研认知的重要意义，希望本期培训班的国际学生通过本次培训多听讲、多参观、多互动、多实践，丰富专业知识、提高应用技能、拓展研究视野，在一带一路倡议下扩大中外文化、教育及科技交流。

Vice president Chen JunBin from Xi’an Shiyou University first gave a welcoming speech, and warmly welcomed Professor Tao WenQuan and the whole IKCEST Silk Road Training team. He expressed his gratitude to the School of Continuing Education for co-holding this training programme, and also congratulated Xi’an Shiyou University for being able to hold this Silk Road Training Programme. In his speech, Vice president Chen JunBin also shared his own experiences as student and as researcher, and pointed out the significance of this Silk Road Training Programme in strengthening the trainees’understanding about scientific research. He finally wished that all the foreign students taking this programme will attentively take all the lectures, actively visit all the teaching labs, passionately participate in all interactions to build up hand-on experiences, which will surely enrich their professional knowledge, strengthen their practical skills and broaden their horizons. He also wished that all the foreign students would help further promote cultural, educational and technological communication and exchange between China and their home country under the Belt and Road Initiative.

He also introduced all the lecturers and subjects of the 50th training programme, and expressed the wish that this programme would help foreign students share the achievements of China’s technological development and cutting-edge technology in the world. He said that the training programme aimed to promote global sharing of cultural and technological development in the world, and contribute to the development of friendship and cooperation among Belt-Road countries, which will ultimately promote the common development and prosperity of all countries in the world.

开班仪式前，陶文铨院士与全体学员合影留念。仪式结束后，陶院士为全体学员们进行了“数值模拟在能源工程研究中的应用”专题讲座。耄耋之年的陶院士在两个半小时的讲座中坚持全程站着讲课，高端、权威、专业、精彩、全英文的授课赢得在场国际学生的盛赞。讲座结束后，院士还现场回答了学生们提出的问题，互动气氛热烈，学生们纷纷表示此次讲座是入学以来听到过的最精彩的课程，他们通过讲座了解了前沿科学的动态，收获良多。

Professor Tao WenQuan took a picture together with all attendees before the opening ceremony. After the opening ceremony, professor Tao WenQuan gave the foreign students a lecture on the subject of Applications of Numerical Simulation in Energy Engineering Research. Though already at the age of 80, professor Tao WenQuan conducted his two-and-a-half-hour lecture standing on the stage. His passionate, authoritative, and professional cutting-edge English speech drew the full attention of the whole audience. After his lecture, professor Tao WenQuan answered all the questions from and had good interaction with the students. All foreign students attending this programme ranked this lecture as their best lecture ever taken, and said that this lecture helped them better understand the state-of-the-art development of the field and benefited them greatly.

此次培训是西安石油大学与IKCEST丝路培训基地、西安交通大学开展“一带一路”领域向纵深推进的首次合作，旨在共同为“一带一路”人才培养做出重要贡献，提高国际学生教育质量，推动文化、科技、教育交流，为丝路沿线和欧亚非地区经济社会发展做出重要贡献。

This training programme is the first time that Xi’an Shiyou University cooperated with IKCEST Silk Road Training Base and Xi’an Jiaotong University on the further implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative, and aims to contribute its effort to the talents cultivation of Belt-road countries. This programme also aims to improve the educational level and standards of international students, and promote the cultural, technological and educational communication and exchanges between China and Belt-road countries, which will ultimately make significant contribution to the economic and social development of the Belt-road countries in Asia, Europe and Africa etc.

联合国教科文组织国际工程科技知识中心（简称“国际知识中心”、“IKCEST”）是联合国教科文组织下属二类中心，2014 年6 月在北京成立，依托中国工程院建设，旨在面向世界各国尤其是发展中国家的政策制定者、广大工程科技工作者提供咨询、科研、教育等知识服务。2017年2月，国际知识中心依托西安交通大学，设立“IKCEST丝路培训基地”，为一带一路沿线国家培养工程科技人才。

UNESCO International Knowledge Centre for Engineering Sciences and Technology (IKCEST) is a second-class organization affiliated to the UNESCO. It was established in Beijing in June 2014 and is based on Chinese Academy of Engineering, and aims to offer knowledge services of consultation, scientific research and education to policy makers and engineering and technological personnel in all countries in the world, especially in developing countries. In February, 2017, based in Xi’an Jiaotong University, IKCEST Silk Road Training Base was established, which aims to train more engineering and technological talents for Belt-road countries.

The International Knowledge Centre for Engineering Sciences and Technology (shortened as “IKCEST”) is a category II centre under the auspices of UNESCO. IKCEST was established on June 2, 2014. The Chinese Academy of Engineering is responsible for the operation and management of the IKCEST. IKCEST aims at providing knowledge-based services at a global scale in the form of consultancies, scientific research and education for policy-makers and engineering science and technology professionals in the world, with particular reference to the developing countries. In February 2017, based in Xi'an Jiaotong University, IKCEST Silk Road Training Base was established, which aims to train more engineering and technological talents for Belt-Road countries.
