6月11日上午，王树国校长在宣怀厅会见了来访的内布拉斯加-林肯大学校长Ronnie Green及孔子学院教育代表团一行。校长助理兼国际教育学院院长单文华，国际处、城市学院、继续教育学院、钱学森院、网络信息中心等相关部门领导陪同会见。
On the morning of June 11th, President Wang Shuguo met with Ronnie Green, President of University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Confucius Institute Education Delegation in Xuan Huai Hall. The President Assistant and Dean of the Institute of International Education Shan Wenhua, International Department, City College, School of Continuing Education, Qian Xuesen School, Network Information Center and other relevant department leaders accompanied the meeting.

王树国校长首先对Ronnie Green校长及孔子学院教育代表团一行表示欢迎，并简要介绍了西安交通大学的发展现状。王校长鼓励青年一代在成长过程中要进行多元文化的学习交流，强调青年人要多出国深造，开阔视野。Ronnie Green校长表示赞同，并期待能够继续借助两校共建的孔子学院平台，进一步拓展合作。

President Wang Shuguo first welcomed President Ronnie Green and the Confucius Institute Education Delegation and briefly introduced the development status of Xi’an Jiaotong University. President Wang encouraged the younger generation to engage in multicultural learning and communication in the process of growth, emphasizing that young people must go abroad for further studies and broaden their horizons. President Ronnie Green expressed his approval and looked forward to continuing to use the Confucius Institute platform built by the two schools to further expand cooperation.

本次内布拉斯加-林肯大学孔子学院教育代表团一行于6月12日-16日在西安进行了为期5天的活动。该活动是由国家汉办/孔子学院总部主办、IKCEST丝路培训基地承办，西安交通大学继续教育学院、国际教育学院承办组织，旨在使团员全面了解中国悠久历史及当代中国快速发展现状，以加强中美双方孔子学院内涵建设。来自美国的内布拉斯加州议员、当地中小学校长和学监、内布拉斯加林肯大学校长助理、传媒学院院长等人参加了此次中国行活动。代表团先后走访了兵马俑、陕西历史博物馆等历史圣地感知中国悠久的历史文明，同时，参观陕西鼓风机(集团)有限公司、快速制造国家工程研究中心，了解快速发展的现代西安。

The educational delegation of the Confucius Institute at University of Nebraska-Lincoln conducted a five-day event in Xi’an from June 12th to the 16th. The event was organized by Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters, IKCEST Silk Road Training Base, Xi’an Jiaotong University’s School of Continuing Education, and International Education Institute’s organization. It aims to provide members with a comprehensive understanding of China’s long history and the status quo of the rapid development of contemporary China and strength the Connotation Construction of the Confucius Institutes in China and the United States. Nebraska Council members from the United States, local primary and secondary school principals and school supervisors, president assistant from University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and Dean of the School of Communication attended the trip to China. The delegation visited the historical sites of the Terracotta Warrior, the Shaanxi History Museum, etc. to perceive China’s long history. At the same time, they visited the Shaanxi Blower (Group) Co., Ltd. and the Rapid Manufacturing National Engineering Research Center to learn about the rapid development of modern Xi’an.

此外，还听取了我校组织的各类讲座座谈如：中国经济概况、中国教育等，进一步加强对中国教育、经济、文化等发展现状的了解与认识。此次访问让内布拉斯加-林肯大学对IKCEST丝路培训基地有了深入了解，希望在双方的共同努力下，能拓展更多的合作项目。

In addition, they also listened to lectures and seminars organized by the University such as Outline Of Chinese Economy and The Chinese Education to further enhance our knowledge and understanding of the status of education, economics, and culture in China. The visit gave the University of Nebraska-Lincoln an in-depth understanding of IKCEST Silk Road Training Base and hoped that with the joint efforts of both parties, more cooperation projects could be developed.

联合国教科文组织国际工程科技知识中心（简称“国际知识中心”“IKCEST”）是联合国教科文组织下属二类中心，2014年6月在北京成立，依托中国工程院建设，旨在面向世界各国尤其是发展中国家的政策制定者、广大工程科技工作者提供咨询、科研、教育等知识服务。2017年2月，国际知识中心依托西安交通大学，设立“IKCEST丝路培训基地”，为“一带一路”沿线国家培养工程科技人才。

The International Knowledge Centre for Engineering Sciences and Technology (shortened as “IKCEST”) is a category II centre under the auspices of UNESCO. IKCEST was established on June 2, 2014. The Chinese Academy of Engineering is responsible for the operation and management of the IKCEST. IKCEST aims at providing knowledge-based services at a global scale in the form of consultancies, scientific research and education for policy-makers and engineering science and technology professionals in the world, with particular reference to the developing countries. In February 2017, based in Xi'an Jiaotong University, IKCEST Silk Road Training Base was established, which aims to train more engineering and technological talents for Belt-Road countries.
