On November 14, 2018, the IKCEST and UNESCO held a video conference on the construction of UNESCO Natural Sciences Sector’s Communication and Outreach Platform (hereinafter referred to as “Communication and Outreach Platform”) and the signing of a MoU. The teleconference was attended by Liu Chang, Ma Yingchen, Zhang Ye and Fang Ying at the IKCEST Secretariat, and Ana Peršić, Gifty Dlouhy and Isabelle Brugnon at UNESCO Liaison Office.

Liu Chang briefed on the background of the IKCEST Communication and Outreach Platform commissioned by UNESCO and the drafting of the MoU. The two sides discussed topics including platform copyright and maintenance, respective obligations among the construction parties, and launch time of the platform. Ana believed that relevant work should be started soon, including discussion with Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (a party of the platform construction) to determine the joint meeting time and advancement of the MoU signing and platform construction.
